NEW YORK, Dec. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- New York City-based designer and Founder of Kim Depole Design, Kim Depole, brings together an eclectic mix of experience and fine art through revolutionary interior design technique in The Modern. Towering at 47 stories, The Modern is a 450-unit rental in Fort Lee, NJ, with breathtaking views of the George Washington Bridge that, as described in a recent New York Times article, "transforms the New York skyline."

Fascinated by the use of reflection off the building's glass surface Depole continued this motif throughout the interior space, selecting materials with an inherent luminous quality for everything from the tiling to the award winning cafe table in the lounge, which was recently featured in Interior Design Magazine. The result is an intricate aesthetic reflecting the outdoors throughout, from the elements of water, wood and metal, to the unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline.

Upon entering The Modern, future residents are welcomed into a dynamic sales office, adorned with tones borrowed from the reflective surfaces of The George Washington Bridge. Kim Depole Design created this space in partnership with The Marketing Directors Group and Elkus Manfredi Architects by combining 3 apartments to form a meeting room, 5 offices, and 3 interactive displays. The seating was custom designed with dynamic curves to accent the high-fashion photographs papering the walls.

SJP Properties worked closely with Kim Depole Design in conceptualizing several of the common areas and residences. Each of the three model residences were created around a specific profile to welcome a variety of lifestyles, telling the story of life in a beautiful space and presenting options for discovery for the renters who visit.

This same transformative feeling is achieved in the amenity spaces. For the "Always Sunny Playspace" Kim Depole Design adopted a Swedish design aesthetic to give the feeling of being outside. The gorgeous modern garden brings together elements of nature and education in a dream-like oasis that provides a space for children to create without the distraction of technology or a single TV.

The Aquapella Lounge was inspired by a postcard picturing a man climbing up a ladder in a swimming pool while wearing a dress suite. The celling depicts swimmers at the pool's surface, and the affect is perfected in its attention to detail, from the "No Diving" and "No Lifeguard on Duty" signs decorating the walls, to the retro bathing caps that Kim Depole Design sourced and transformed into throw pillows for the couches.

Jeff Brosk's ebony carving of an aerial view of the Hudson River is prominently on display in the fifth floor lounge, the essence of which is brought out by the cerused oak walls and wood grained carpet. The room's innate elegance is balanced by the Roll and Hill branch light fixture, the "Time to Lounge" pillows, and the one of a kind cantilever pool table created by the Mitchell Family and made from zebra wood and finished metal. The custom upholstery, by craftsman Angel Naula, and the Knoll chairs offer seating for dining, watching TV, or enjoying conversation. The walls are a Kim Depole Design Signature, achieved through layering veniziano, an ancient Italian decorative technique that captures the exquisite light that enters the space at dusk.

The historic 75,000 square feet of amenity spaces extends well beyond the interior walls to create a new landmark for New Jersey.
