ROCKLIN, Calif., July 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Gutterglove,
Inc. announced that it has secured a deal for its DIY EasyOn
Gutterguard to be sold in Costco Wholesale stores. Filing for
patent protection back in 2009, EasyOn finally received its long
awaited patent on May 5, 2015 just
six years later.
Even though this DIY gutter guard has been a big hit on
Costco.com, and doubling their sales expectations, buyers from the
store division still wanted to test it before releasing it into
their network of Costco stores. This past November 2014, Costco buyer execs tested out the
sales potential of EasyOn by placing it in 16 random Costco stores
throughout the US. To qualify to be sold in the stores nationwide,
seven boxes a week containing 36 feet of EasyOn needed to be sold.
Inventor and CEO of Gutterglove, Inc., Robert Lenney, was on pins
and needles awaiting the results of the test.
"What do I say, it's every manufacturer's dream to have their product
sold in Costco Wholesale stores," comments Mr. Lenney. "I was
really hoping and praying that my EasyOn gutter cover was going to
sell well through the test phase."
The test results revealed that it was a big winner. One of the
test stores sold a whopping 54 boxes a week during the test phase.
Purchase orders are now coming in and EasyOn is finally available
at many of the Costco Wholesale stores in the US.
The design for the EasyOn gutter cover is quite unique, which is
why the US Patent office has awarded Mr. Lenney with very broad
claims. Intellectual property attorney Glen
Gross of Secure Patent Strategies, legal counsel for the
company, was very pleased with the claims awarded.
"Due to the fact that this type of gutter cover technology is
novel, we were awarded some significant claim coverage," replies
Mr. Gross. "In my nearly 20 years of processing patent applications
for clients, this is one of the strongest patents I've
obtained."
Mr. Lenney's EasyOn gutter guard is now the only gutter cover in
the marketplace that doesn't have to use a metal support to hold up
the stainless steel mesh, which is why he can manufacture it for
half the cost of his competitors. The low price points make it
attractive to big box and home improvement stores across
North America, which is why Costco
picked it up.
Instead of homeowners paying up to $25 a foot to have a pro-install gutter guard
installed, they can now buy a pro-install quality gutter guard for
around $2 a foot and install it
themselves.
EasyOn is a Do-It-Yourself gutter guard that comes with two
options for installing on your gutter for the weekend DIY warrior.
You can use the 3M VHB adhesive tape for securing it on your gutter
or you can screw it on with the supplied self-tapping screws. This
gutter cover is made from stainless steel micromesh and aluminum
extrusions and keeps out leaves, pine needles and even tiny roof
sand grit.
Lenney is currently seeking additional distribution
internationally and throughout North
America. He's also seeking capital to assist with its
enormous growth.
