receipts fell 0.22% to 155.39. The European index decreased 0.26%
to 151.58, the Asian index dropped 0.21% to 153.77, the Latin

Eni said Thursday that Milan prosecutors have placed under
investigation its newly appointed chief executive as part of their
probe into the purchase of a Nigerian oil asset by the Italian
energy company, which reiterated its denial of any wrongdoing. The
purchase has drawn scrutiny from anticorruption campaigners in
their attempt to seek greater transparency from oil companies in

Mexican broadcast and media company Grupo Televisa sold its 50%

businessman Ricardo Salinas after a three-year partnership in the
venture. Shares fell 1.2% to $37.70.
