WATERBURY, Conn., Feb. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Webster Bank announced today that David Miree is the executive vice president for
consumer deposits, investments, and network management. In
this capacity, Miree will oversee Webster's banking center and
customer care center network as well as Consumer Deposits and
Webster Investment Services business. He will report to
Nitin Mhatre, executive vice
president, community banking.

understanding of what it takes to achieve profitability in today's
retail banking industry," said Mhatre. "He began his career as
a banking center manager and excelled in a series of escalating
leadership positions before successfully managing a retail banking

of experience and a strong background in retail banking sales,
service, and operations, David brings to Webster a demonstrated
level of knowledge, discipline, and effective leadership to
navigate the changing expectations of customers," he added.
Miree comes to Webster from Santander
Bank, which he joined in 2011 and was most recently
executive vice president and managing director of its U.S. retail
network and small business banking. Prior to that, Miree
worked for three years at Wachovia/Wells Fargo in Philadelphia, where he was responsible for
leading more than 300 branches and later became regional
president. His experience previous to that included positions
at Chevy Chase Bank in Bethesda,
Md., GE Capital Co. in Cincinnati, and Fifth Third Bank in
Cincinnati, where he began his
banking career as a branch manager in 1991.
A strong believer in living up to the communities he serves,
Miree is looking forward to working locally with boards and
commissions regarding his deep interest in mentoring disadvantage
youth and creating economic development opportunities for
businesses, towns, and cities. He has previously served on the
Pennsylvania Bank Association; as vice chair of the Dayton Urban
League; on the board of directors of the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce; and on the
business advisory board of at Ohio
University, where he earned his bachelor's and master's
degrees from Ohio University in Athens,
Ohio.
Miree is originally from Cincinnati and is currently relocating to
Connecticut from
Massachusetts. He will be based in Wallingford, Conn.
