                Non Executive Chairman Buys Datamonitor Shares


Datamonitor plc is pleased to confirm that in the last three days Bernard Cragg,
non executive Chairman, has acquired 215,000 shares at a price of 29p.

These purchases follow the purchase last November of 1,387,000 shares in the
Company by the current management and the acquisition of 200,000 shares by
Geoffrey Cullinan, a non-executive Director of Datamonitor plc.

Commenting, Mike Danson, Chief Executive Officer said:

 "I am delighted that Bernard has decided to invest in Datamonitor as we embark
on the next phase of development of the Company."
