Verilink Announces Plans to Extend Optical Ethernet Access Platform to Address International Market Company to Introduce SDH-Version of Orion 7400 Product MADISON, Ala., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Verilink Corporation (NASDAQ:VRLK), a leading provider of broadband access solutions, today announced plans to extend the Orion(TM) 7400 Optical Multiservice Access Transport Platform to address the growing demand in the international market for SDH-based Optical Ethernet transport services. The Orion 7400, which currently supports Ethernet over SONET (EoS), gives carriers a profitable business case for fiber extension beyond the reach of existing metro rings to large and mid-sized enterprises, enabling the delivery of flexible Ethernet-based services as well as traditional TDM services on a mass-market basis. The Orion 7400 is also a highly cost-effective solution for upgrading legacy SONET and SDH Add/Drop Multiplexers (ADMs) to enable the delivery of Ethernet services.
