Versatile Systems Inc. (TSX VENTURE:VV) announced today the successful
installation of a Symantec NetBackup(TM) appliance for global safety equipment
manufacturer Mine Safety Appliances Company (MSA) of Cranberry Township, PA.

"We wanted to modernize our existing backup system and needed a unified solution
to backup SAP, Oracle database server, Lotus Notes, SharePoint, and CIFS shares
from our NetApp and individual Windows based systems. We also use Citrix Xen and
VMware servers and wanted a product that directly supported those environments,"
said Kevin Sheen Manager, Technical Operations for MSA. "Versatile helped us to
identify the best solution and integrate it with our existing infrastructure.
Symantec NetBackup appliance was the best fit for our requirements and offered a
platform for future growth. Both Versatile and Symantec provided outstanding
service and support throughout the implementation and system integration."

"Symantec NetBackup appliances provide customers with a faster path to better
backup by offering an easier way to deploy both backup and deduplication and by
providing features such as end-to-end deduplication that drive down costs and
increase efficiency," explained Brandt Gamba, Systems Architect, Symantec. "In
addition to NetBackup, MSA needed a scalable deduplication storage solution. The
Symantec NetBackup(TM) 5000 appliance met this need by offering deduplication
for physical and virtual systems and the ability to scale a single storage pool
to up to 192TBs of useable capacity. Unlike traditional appliances which only
offer target deduplication, the Symantec NetBackup 5000 supports client and
media-server based deduplication, which means customers use up to 72% less
infrastructure and bandwidth to move data with the latest version, NetBackup
7.5."

"Versatile was pleased to be involved with this initiative," said Bob Joyce,
President, Versatile Systems. "Versatile is a certified Symantec NetBackup
Specialist Partner with training on appliances. Our team worked with MSA to
determine the best solution to meet their requirements and partnered with
Symantec to provide implementation and integration services."
