ADRs End Lower, AB Foods, Travis Perkins, Novartis Trade Actively

International stocks trading in New York closed lower on
Tuesday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts
fell 1.6% to 150.17. The European index declined 1.2% to 151.20,
the Asian index dropped 2.3% to 163.02, the Latin American index
decreased 1.3% to 183.58 and the emerging markets index was 2.4%
lower at 270.69.
ADRs of Travis Perkins PLC fell 4.2% to $11.45 after the U.K.
building-materials retailer said sales fell in the first quarter
because of challenging market conditions.
Associated British Foods PLC ADRs fell 5.6% to $24.47 after the
food producer and owner of clothing retailer Primark reported lower
first-half adjusted operating profit and forecast full-year profit
similar to a year earlier.
ADRs of Novartis AG closed up 3.4% to $104.04 after the Swiss
pharma major posted a rise in profit and sales and raised its
guidance for the year.
