ATLANTA, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CheckFree Corporation (NASDAQ:CKFR) today announced that C. Kim Goodwin has been elected to the Company's Board of Directors. Kim is a well-known and respected equity investment professional. BusinessWeek named Kim the winner of its 2004 year-end forecast and ranked her second in the 2005 "Fearless Forecasters." Until February 2005, she served as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer - Equities of State Street Research & Management Company. In this role she oversaw the firm's equity investments, representing $19 billion in broad equity assets, including pension fund, profit sharing, and mutual fund accounts, and led a team of portfolio managers, analysts, traders, and quantitative investment professionals. Kim joined State Street Research in 2002 after serving as chief investment officer for American Century Investments where she had primary responsibility for the company's domestic growth equity discipline. Prior to American Century Investments, she was a senior vice president with Putnam Investments. From 1993 to 1996, Kim was a vice president and portfolio manager at Prudential Investments and served as portfolio manager for several Prudential equity mutual funds. Kim began her career as an assistant vice president with Mellon Bank in 1987 where she had various investment research and portfolio management responsibilities. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Akamai Technologies, Inc.
