Bluedrop selected as courseware provider for CC-130J
Maintenance Training Systems Project
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia,
Nov. 6, 2014 /CNW/ -- Bluedrop
Performance Learning Inc. (TSX-V: BPL) ("Bluedrop"), a recognized
training and simulation provider in the military market, was
recently selected to complete work for CAE on the development of
courseware pertaining to Canada's
CC-130J Block 7.0 aircraft upgrades.
CAE, a full-service defence company based in Canada, is the prime contractor on
Canada's Operational Training
Systems Provider (OTSP) program, which includes the design,
development and in-service support of training systems for
Canada's CC-130J and CH-147F
aircraft. Bluedrop has been partnered with CAE on the OTSP
program since 2009 and has been part of the CAE-led pan-Canadian
team of companies supporting the OTSP program.
Lockheed Martin selected CAE to develop, modify, manufacture and
deliver CC-130J Maintenance Training Systems for the Royal Canadian
Air Force (RCAF). As part of this project, Bluedrop was selected to
create approximately 30 runtime hours of new courseware and update
approximately 270 runtime hours of courseware, to be used for
training RCAF technicians. The courseware is to be delivered via
instructor-led training. The new and revised curriculum Bluedrop
created will allow RCAF technicians to continue to safely and
knowledgeably maintain the CC-130J aircraft.
Bluedrop will undertake this project in close partnership with
CAE and Lockheed Martin, and will use the CAE-developed Air Force
Integrated Information and Learning Environment (AFIILE).
"This new contract signifies CAE's continued satisfaction and
confidence in Bluedrop's delivery capabilities," said Jim Pyra, Vice President of Program Delivery,
Bluedrop Training and Simulation. "We are thrilled with the success
of our contracts with CAE, and look forward to continuing this
trend with industry partners."
"We are pleased to continue our strong relationship with
Bluedrop as a key member of CAE's network of Canadian partners that
are helping to deliver world-class synthetic training solutions to
the Canadian Forces," said Mike
Greenley, Vice President and General Manager, CAE
Canada.
