TRADING STATEMENT AND DATE OF PUBLICATION OF 2005 FINANCIAL RESULTS



Shareowners are advised that due to the current favourable market environment
and Brait's own performance, earnings per share and headline earnings per share
of the group for the year ending 31 March 2005 are likely to be within a range
of 22.7 to 27.2 US cents per share. Earnings per share for the year ended 31
March 2004 were 2.0 US cents per share and headline earnings were 6.5 US cents
per share.



Shareowners are cautioned that any material change in market conditions or
portfolio valuations between now and 31 March 2005 could have a significant
impact on the results.


The financial information on which this trading statement has been based has not
been reviewed or reported on by the group's auditors.


The 2005 financial results of the group are expected to be published on or about
26 May 2005.
