Battery Swap is not competing with super fast charging. Battery swap is a solution to the inevitable grid collapse from super fast charging. Rather than spend billions on upgrading the power grid the Chinese energy companies and government sees battery swapping stations as the solution. Before the energy companies spend billions upgrading infrastructure they will raise rates for quick charging and peak charging per 1kW to discourage quick charging and peak hour charging. Power and energy are two different factors. The “power” transmission lines are limited in their capacity to deliver electricity.
Have some foresight people. Even Elon admits battery storage terminals will be needed to meet power grid demand as more EVs hit the road. Battery Swap Terminals are a necessity… not a luxury.

China’s retail sales strengthen at start of the year, meeting expectations

So… if the Battery Asset Company owns the batteries NIO isn’t paying for the batteries. NIO is being paid for Battery Swapping Services and asset management.
NIO is also collecting %25 of revenue from BaaS from the Battery Asset Company. Meaning NIO and CATL benefit from each other’s battery swap infrastructure and development through the Battery Asset Company BaaS.
Assuming the Battery Asset Company is still in business.

Battery Asset Company is State owned. NIO isn’t going anywhere. NIO/BaaS will be implemented in China. CATL and NIo will not compete against each other. They will each serve a different segment and complement each other. IMHO
