The Irishman, Selenium may help to rev-up the
immune system and help anti-oxidants work better.
People with high selenium levels may have had lesser
negative impacts from Covid. (Again, I would suggest
eating a few Brazil Nuts each week rather than a supplement.)

Not news to anyone here' - but fine R-I mentioned 'again' 🙂

10.2.2. Icosapent Ethyl
Icosapent ethyl [eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)] is approved in international guidelines for high-risk patients with hypertriglyceridemia on statins [231]. The REDUCE-IT trial reported a 25% reduction in cardiovascular events with EPA use [232]. EPA exerts several protective mechanisms, including stabilizing cell membranes, inhibiting lipid oxidation and downregulating proinflammatory pathways such as NF-?B [233]. In addition, EPA limits the differentiation of T cells into the proinflammatory Th1 subtype [234], while promoting atheroprotective Treg cell differentiation [235]. Furthermore, EPA has been associated with reduced cytokine IL-6 [236]. EPA can also be metabolized into the lipid mediator resolvin E1, which reduces oxLDL uptake by macrophages and binds to the specific resolvin receptor ChemR23, expressed on ECs, to mediate inflammation [237].

I agree if they regained compliance with anything other than a RS. That is just playing with figures and doesn't imply in any way that the company is doing better or gaining momentum. Unless the ultimate and pressing goal is not to sell the company but rather GIA, then I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Maybe optics? Employee morale? Negotiating power? I would imagine its easier to try to negotiate top dollar when you're regained compliance and have some momentum, as opposed to having just endured a "failure" and being demoted to the OTC market. Just a thought

A couple of weeks ago, I think, I posted where some BP bought a privately held company for their drug program. Obviously that company was not listed on any exchange and that did not impede the sale. Amarin as a company is of no value to anyone, but simply the drug they own. If the entire object here is to sell to BP and not GIA and try to become some big company, then it would seem to me to be no big deal to just go onto the OTC. BP should be aware of V no matter the listing.

Why in the name of Pete would Alex Denner do a Reverse Split when he invested $100M @ $4 a share? It's better to delist, trade OTC. Share volume is in the toilet anyway.

If our current CEO can avoid a reverse split I
would be gratified. However, a reverse split
would be the most "bang for the buck" way to
allow Sarissa to pick up the largest percentage
of the company for the least amount of money,
essentially screwing the long suffering shareholders
in the process. I hope to see this play out without
a reverse split. Still, in the back of my mind lurks
what the CEO said about there being a number
of levers he can pull to avoid a delisting...Of course,
one of those levers would be reverse split. I wish he
would have ruled that one out which could have helped
the share price.

Who is SanDiegoLiving? Does he ever post
on this forum? If so, what is his moniker?
His conviction on the potential per share
value is interesting, but it will be Alex Denner
who will call the shots (for better or worse) so
I wonder if SDL has any connections to him.
My confidence in AD was shaken when his
hand selected CEO quit. The CEO position
can make or break a company like AMRN,
and sadly AMRN as had a number of CEOs
who seem to have been dolts (to put it nicely.)
Good CEOs protect their company's share price.
Or they have solid plans to turn around poor performance.
I can't say our current CEO is doing a good job here
and that I find troubling.

Yes, the approval for a share buyback can expire, depending on the jurisdiction and the specific terms set by the company or its governing body.

United States: In the U.S., share buyback programs authorized by a company's board of directors typically do not have a statutory expiration date. However, companies often specify a time frame for the program's completion in their announcements or board resolutions. Open-market repurchase programs, for instance, can span months or even years, but they are subject to daily buyback limits under SEC Rule 10b-1817.

United Kingdom: Under UK law, shareholder approval for a share buyback via a special resolution is valid for up to five years unless a shorter period is specified in the resolution itself. After this period, a new resolution would be required to authorize further buybacks.

In both cases, companies must comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies regarding timing and disclosure of buybacks.

The Irishman, When Covid first hit I advised friends
& family to take Vitamin D3 supplements (5,000 IU
per day) and Selenium ( Best source are Brazil Nuts-
but no more than one or two per day...Just having a
few every week is good.) For digestive issues I would
suggest eating a few apples and pears (all with the skin)
every week. Vascepa may help but make certain one
takes it with or after a meal that has some fat. The same
with Vitamin D3...Take it also with a meal with some fat
which could be mixed nuts (for example.) My advice may
or may not help, but I don't see it as being harmful in any
way. Hope your wife gets better!

Irishman, sorry to hear your wife has been having all the difficulties. I am certainly not the board expert on all the benefits of V on the body, but one of the benefits of taking V is a reduction in inflammation in the body which of course is a very good thing. Good luck.

correction-days to cover should be 14.41 +1.97, a/o 1/15/25 days to cover were 12.70.
FYI days to cover are based on the avg 30 day volume. It's more detailed but that's the basic idea of days to cover.

Greetings…
Just looking for some advice. Before I ask, let me just say this: I still have faith in Vascepa and Amarin. I pray that God will make this all right.

My wife had COVID multiple times. We both took the J&J vaccine. We didn’t want to but in order to see our grandchildren it had to happen. Having said that my wife has been experiencing severe issues with body pain, coughing, headaches, change of taste, digestive issues, fogginess and a few other issues over the last few years. She has had bloodwork done and multiple tests. So far? No cause.
It is believed that COVID can mess with the immune system. So, my question is this: Can Vascepa be a possible solution to minimizing the inflammation?
Is there any one on this board with insight and or experience with this?

I appreciate any input.
Blessings

For anyone interested in AMRN short position reported every 2 wks see below. FYI I tried to copy and paste but Fido uses some kind of formatting that can't be shared.

Short Interest
Short % of Interest a/o 1/31/25 4.16%
Shares Short 16.85 (m)million -0.34%
Days to cover a/o 2/16 14.41
Prior short interest a/o 1/15/25 17.19 (m)
Prior days to cover 17.19

So based on the most recent report a/o 2/16/25 the above data shows short interest has decreased slightly

when I asked copilot who the largest shareholders of amarin pharma are, this list showed up. I don't know the accuracy.
As of the latest data, the top shareholders of Amarin Pharma (AMRN) include:

Arete Wealth Advisors LLC - $16.58 billion Anyone know these guys? must be a mistake since there's no way that amt is correct.

Kynam Capital Management LP - $11.06 million

DG Capital Management LLC - $4.70 million

ExodusPoint Capital Management LP - $4.63 million

Price Jennifer C. - $2.64 million

Gratus Capital LLC - $2.20 million

SCP Investment LP - $2.18 million

These institutions hold significant stakes in Amarin, reflecting their confidence in the company's potential.

Is there anything specific you'd like to know about Amarin or its shareholders?

We have learned from multiple studies including this one that it’s not about the placebo or even about the TG’s.

The drugs used in PROMINENT & STRENGTH failed to achieve any of their Endpoints in spite of having higher TG reductions than REDUCE-IT. It doesn’t surprise me at all that patients with mild to moderate hypertriglyceridemia did not express similar magnitudes of CV risk.

As I’ve been saying, in my non-professional  opinion, It’s not about the TG’s, it’s the EPA Stupid!

New England Asset Management is a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Re, an insurance company owned by Berkshire Hathaway.

https://www.neamgroup.com/our-story

They filed a 13F-HR on Feb 14, which presents holdings as of Dec 31 2024. At that time, they owned Pfizer shares.

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1004244/000108514625001696/xslForm13F_X02/infotable.xml

To determine whether they increased/decreased ownership, you'd need to look at the previous filing.

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1004244/000108514624005429/xslForm13F_X02/infotable.xml

If you compare the two, you'll find that NEAM decreased their share holdings of Pfizer between Sep 30 and Dec 31. As these reports are just snapshots in time, there's no way of knowing how frequently they trade, nor what their current holdings are.

The two sec.gov links above don't give any indication as to which date they refer. To determine that, you need to click on the "Filing" box next to each 13F-HR listing at this link:

SK, I had not heard until I saw your post today.  Doing some very quick and abbreviated search I am coming up with mixed and contradictory stories, except for the following.  Apparently Berkshire bought New England Asset Management, and through that vehicle shares of PFE are being bought.  The two things I dislike is that the reporting takes 45 days before we find out what they are doing and then if they are heavily invested then you have to worry that they dump it.  But I will take all that if we can get Buffett involved and others will follow.

Thanks

Supreme Court dockets are updated at varying speeds depending on the type of filing and its review process:

Electronic Filings: Most subsequent filings in a case are updated on the docket within 10-15 minutes of submission through the electronic filing system, provided they do not require review by the Clerk’s Office.

Paper Filings: Documents submitted in paper form, such as certiorari petitions or case-initiating documents, are added to the docket only after being reviewed and accepted by the Clerk’s Office. This process can take several days, especially if the documents are mailed to the Court.

Emergency Applications: For urgent cases requiring immediate attention, such as stays of execution or procedural matters, filings may be expedited. However, these still require direct contact with the Clerk’s Office to ensure prompt action
.
Thus, while updates for routine electronic filings are quick, more complex or paper-based submissions depend on administrative review and may take longer.

Application (24A652) to extend the time to file a petition for a writ of certiorari from January 15, 2025 to February 14, 2025, submitted to The Chief Justice.
