I have not given much thought to it, always thinking that my info would be secure because nobody unauthorized ever has access to my car for long =enough to do any harm. However, with the possible onset of FSD and robotaxi, things may change.

If you have thought about starting a business developing and selling a software/hardware package that could be easily installed on Models 3 and Y, I may be a buyer.

In addition to my last post and related to post #91815 if readers are interested in Trusted Platform Modules since they are in Teslas and I believe offer a competitive advantage they should search on Google, ‘what does a TPM do’ if they want to know about a technology that is AKA Trusted Computing!!

Thanks TSLA fan. Volkswagen is the other car company that I am aware of that uses the Trusted Platform Module, but they seem to be tied to Infineon which is a German company. If Tesla used other brands of TPMs they could keep their costs lower than Volkswagen potentially and pass the savings along to the buyer, but generally TPMs aren’t very expensive!! Or it just wouldn’t force Tesla to have to buy from a particular TPM manufacturer! I think more options is good!! Wave Systems Corp. could enable them and manage them and with Wave’s 2FA and entering a PIN before you ride off in your Tesla that would be another level of security for the owner!! Wave is interoperable amongst all the TPMs, and I believe Volkswagen and Tesla have a competitive advantage over the other car companies as using this hardware security rather than software only security that can be hacked!! If anything, Tesla and the government should have their TPMs in computers activated and using Wave software so that they only allow known devices on their networks!! Hope this helps!!

Cybertruck an engineering disaster? I have not see any proof of that at all. I have a friend who has one, he loves that thing. Yes, service is indeed a thing. Too few places to take your Tesla for now. But then... I have not had any real problems yet after 2 years. I do applaud the fact that GM has begun making some new models. I hope they figure it out. Competition is a good thing.
Robots will take over. Yes, I do believe that TSLA will indeed make the first fully human like robot for general use. BUt time will tell.
I am truly glad you like your GM's. That is the point. They suited you better than another brand of car. I know two people who have Bolts and they are looking to bail from them, but mostly because they do not find they suit their needs as much as they thought. Both are looking at VW and Tesla. I let them drive mine, including FSD. I have a feeling they will both go with Tesla. But... their choice.

It’s been days with no Tesla crash reports?

I had a strong feeling that TSLA would NOT be allowed to rise on Friday. Given the momentum from Thursday and FrIday, an increase was in the cards. SO WHY do I say that TSLA would not be ALLOWED to rise? Surely the shorts cannot have access to THAT many shares? Let me try to explain.

What I do every morning is to review the news storied on YAHOO under TSLA. For those of you who are unconvinced, let me just say that BRIAN SOZZI is the biggest bear on TSLA ever. I have NO idea if he is a SHORT or not, although his actions and bi=odyssey language are a dead giveaway (at least to me).

Let's review BRIAN's writeup in detail,

First the headline. The headline says "Tesla stock finds support, for now". The 'for now" screams at you: Yes, but NO LONGER.

"The drop is with good reason from a fundamental perspective." Brian reveals his bearish (SHORT?) leanings in this part of his article, looking just at car sales and automotive income, NOT what is REALLY driving the rally in stock prices.

"At the same time, Australia's Electric Vehicle Council reported that Tesla's overall sales fell 33% year over year in January."

I credit Brian with showing me whereI can track Australia sales for Tesla. However, the kink led me to find a lot of things abbot Australia, one of which was the drop-off in January sees as reported by Brian. Unmentioned by Brian was probable reasons for the drop-off. If the $400m deal goes through I wonder if it will have legal consequences due to the obvious corruption. Probably not in the US under Trump, but maybe in the next administration, or in other countries that have laws against doing business with corrupt companies.

Writing is on the wall. How about trading this at a reasonable P/E. The large price made sense when his was the only company producing cars, but as others ramp up it should fall.

Also didn't elons brother sell alot of tesla stock. elon is also pissing of so many people around the world.

And maybe we should have the ICE car companies pay for any problems with exhaust systems and pay for the cost of timing belts!! And maybe the car companies could pay for the states to run emmissions and pay for the fees that consumers have to pay to get their cars through emmissions!! Just a suggestion…. And pay the health costs for those breathing the air in cities and their associated health costs…. Just a suggestion…

Republican senators call for $1,000 tax on new EV sales to pay for road repairs

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -A group of Senate Republicans on Wednesday proposed a $1,000 tax on new electric vehicle purchases to account for the cost of federal road repairs.

Most revenue for federally funded road repairs is collected through taxes on diesel and gasoline, which EVs do not pay.

The one-time $1,000 fee charged at the time of purchase would be roughly equivalent to what drivers of conventional vehicles pay in federal gas taxes over 10 years for highway funds, said Senator Deb Fischer, the lead sponsor of the measure.

“EVs can weigh up to three times as much as gas-powered cars, creating more wear and tear on our roads and bridges. It’s only fair that they pay into the Highway Trust Fund just like other cars do," Fischer said, saying gasoline-vehicle users typically pay $87 to $100 annually to the trust fund.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said last month he thought EVs should pay for road use. "They should pay for use of our roads. How to do that, I think, is a little more challenging," said Duffy.

Some states charge fees for electric vehicles to cover road repair costs. Congress for the past three decades has opted not to hike fuel taxes to pay for rising road repair costs.

Since 2008, more than $275 billion -- including $118 billion from the 2021 infrastructure law -- has been shifted from the general fund to the Highway Trust Fund to pay for road repairs.

Congress is also considering eliminating the $7,500 EV tax credit, while the Trump administration has frozen EV charging funds and is moving to rescind aggressive emissions rules that the Biden administration estimated would force automakers to build a rising numbers of EVs to comply.

EVs still face hurdles among consumers including that they are typically more expensive than equivalent gasoline-powered versions.

The new Tesla Model Y is already being produced in Giga Shanghai, the Fremont Factory, Giga Texas, and Giga Berlin.
