Brain shrinkage efficacy seems convincing, but its suitability as a surrogate marker is questionable (but plausible).

Compelling evidence of brain shrinkage in AD patients (previously unheard of) should be highly persuasive--perhaps icing on the cake if the overall data passes muster.
