Now we’re getting back to what this board is intended for!
With recent advances in energy technology, oil reserves which were previously inaccessible and too expensive to extract are now being able to be developed. Zion Oil & Gas recently announced its interest in developing a large shale oil deposit 30 miles west of Jerusalem. These deposits comprise the 3rd largest shale oil reserve in the world and expect to yield 250-500 billion barrels of oil. Many experts believe that Israel has a volume of oil in this reserve and other undiscovered shale oil reserves equivalent to that of Saudi Arabia.
Licenses are granted subject to demonstrating capabilities such as financing ability, experience and reputation. Given the recent developments, Israel has been more stringent in what companies it gives licensing rights to, given the rapid increase in applications.

YES.... I believe that Israel has Oil and LOTS OF IT !!!!

If you care to look at this video.... it's an Hour long ..... go to 57:00 (if you don't want to watch the entire vid)

it says that Israel has just a "tad" less oil than Saudi Arabia.

So as Simon says on AGT it’s a YES for me.
Two exploratory wells drilled a 2d and 3D survey. Zion reentering MJ1 not moving from that site. Israel giving Zion new lease. Also the are allowing the new stimulation technology which is fracking. The oil is there how much we don’t know but I think Zion and Israel has a pretty good assessment of what’s there .

Just a point, Givot found commercial oil in the meged field, southwest of MJ1. Yes, they STILL have a commercial license, you know the 30 year one I think. The Golan, it has it as well, but not practical to get. Mj1 is an area that has the same formations that is providing the oil of Syria, yet that is conventional oil.

Point is , it's there, but to your point maybe not commercial. That was said of the Bakkan as well...

We shall see. We even know it's light sweet crude, just like the Bakkan.

Interesting times for sure.

Maybe ZION OIL lied, but I told you the truth. Go to 20:22 of the 1:01:44 Zion Oil informal part of the Annual Stockholders Meeting video on YOUTUBE, and start listening at "We have roughly six hundred and twenty five meters of cement down hole...".

Just because you don't like what I post is no reason to think I lie. The very fact that you may be offended by the truth just might indicate you're invested in the wrong stock.

I must have missed that post on the hole being plugged with so much concrete. So I would assume that his post was due diligently researched and he knows beyond a shadow of doubt that it was cased in such a manner.

But then, why is the company proceeding to re enter without such details being pronounced already?

Anyway, perhaps that is about to be explained more in detail on how they plan to proceed.
Wonder if this includes fracking. If so, I hope they frack it good.

A pre holiday update perhaps??? Let's hear something...from the company, not smart ass replies.

I went ahead and checked John Brown's company car for ya (curiosity got the better of me), according to the 2021 annual report (released March 2022), and also the 2022 annual report (released March 2023):

The 2017 through 2020 car lease for John Brown was a 2017 LIncoln MKZ, $5000 down, $875/mo, it lasted 39 months through Nov 2020. That vehicle was returned to the car dealership with less than 80,000 miles on it (no extra charge for milage).

The new car lease was a 2020 Chevy Equinox. $1500 down and 39 months at $448 a month. Very cheap at half the price! I assume that lease expired 39 months later on March 2024, so we won't know about the new car lease until the 2024 annual report is out.
πŸ‘οΈ0
Bruce_Mcdonalds Bruce_Mcdonalds 2 weeks ago
The cost of the car lease for John Brown was listed in the annual report a few years back. It was about $5500 down and $850 a month for a 4 year lease, which was roughly a thousand a month consdiering the initial payment. It might have been a Lincoln Contential, but a Lincoln for sure. It would be easy to find (just search Lincoln on the past 4 or 5 years of annual reports), I'll find it for you if you really want me to post here, again. They told us the exact terms of the lease, but I don't think they mentioned the insurance for it. So maybe a little extra for that.

I assume Rob Dunn has taken the keys away from the 83 year old John Brown at this point, but I have no evidence of that. So, heck, John Brown might still be driving...

Odd all of the Big Talk the company hasn't generated any revenue.

"Since we have limited capital resources, no revenue to date and a loss from Operations"

There isn't any real oil and gas companies that are listed on the OTC - because they don't have access to capital.

Oil and Gas companies on the OTC are all scams.

But if you think Israel is going to give you a discount on the oil you remove from their land because you paid 20 years of a thousand dollars a month rental for John Brown to drive a Lincoln car around Dallas, more power to you. You might as well add in the 25 people's salary working in Dallas for over 20 years - that would be another 100 million in losses. But the tax man in Israel was not born yesterday.
πŸ‘οΈ0
Bruce_Mcdonalds Bruce_Mcdonalds 2 weeks ago
If you've played penny stocks of companies that lost millions before, you know the final push on the message boards is to claim these losses are assets (against future earnings). Haven't really seen that happen here, yet. And Zion Oil has never claimed their losses as assets, to their credit.

But if you think Israel is going to give you a discount on the oil you remove from their land because you paid 20 years of a thousand dollars a month rental for John Brown to drive a Lincoln car around Dallas, more power to you. As for American taxes, you get a 100% credit on them for taxes you pay in a foreign country, so if Zion Oil ever makes anything on their wells in Israel (and pays 25% Israeli taxes), they will owe no American taxes. Not sure what you want to check with the Board, the fees Israel charges for removing oil from their land are in the Zion Oil 2015 annual report for the Megiddo lease, available for anyone to check.

So when can we bring this question to ZN Board of Directors so they can agree or dispute or explain ????
πŸ‘οΈ0
Bruce_Mcdonalds Bruce_Mcdonalds 3 weeks ago
Nonsense. All fees listed are Israeli fees and taxes, nothing to do with American taxes.
Your $250 milliion "write-off" only applies to American Income Taxes. And even that write off will never be touched.

ISRAELI TAXES AND FEES:
The 12.5% royality to Israel
The 6% royality to Israel charities
The 1.5% royality to management
The 45.52% resource depletion tax
The 25% ISRAEL INCOME TAX (not American Income Tax)

Israel will give or pay about 30% of the cost to bring this well into production in the form of a discount in the 45.52% depletion tax over the first year or two of operation, but that's it. And you can only claim that reduction on money spent on this NEW LEASE IN ISRAEL (not the past 23 years of losses and not the losses in Texas). You don't even get to claim the cost of MJ#2, that was a different lease.

But at least as far as American Taxes are concerned, yup, zero. Why, because the Israeli Corporate taxes are higher than the American Corporate taxes, and the Income Tax paid to Israel is deductable on American Income tax. So no matter what happens, Zion Oil will never pay income taxes in/to America. And Zion Oil will never get a penny tax refund on their $250 million in losses.

I know you guys want to believe whatever someone tells you that sounds good, but the world, and taxes, just don't work that way.

JRyan JRyan 3 weeks ago
Just a point of note for those watching, the taxes referred to, yeah it's high. I wonder how come the write offs are not included in the statement below?

In short, the taxes are way less until that investment has been recovered. R1/R2.

What does that mean? The $200+ million has to be accounted for before your taxed on any profit. Takes a while to get there does it not...

Those expenses count...

Same 10-k docs.

Convenient to leave out right?

Edit: had to be filled with concrete per agreement....not a we will cone back later kinda thing. There is a reason the drill pipe and casements are still there.

Nah, not yet.
Unless you can tell me who among the 17 senior management and/or board people was/were the "xpert(s)" who decided to fill a viable well with up to 600 meters of concrete, and none of the others objected. You are paying the seventeen top dollar for their expertise, you have even approved bonus for them. Should not at least one have proposed NOT filling up MJ#1 with concrete. They did not display expertise. And now you, and all the stockholders, have a mess on your hands.

the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY:

I: Here are the 14 senior management and board members from 2005/2006 that are no longer with Zion Oil. Are these the GOOD, those that worked a few years, and seeing what was happening to investors, left? Or are these the BAD, disloyal people who turned their backs on John Brown?

Eugene A. Soltero
Richard Rinberg
Glen H. Perry
Philip Mandelker
Robert Render
James (Andy) Barron
Yehezkel (Charlie) Druckman
David Patir
Elisha Roih
Karen Soltero
Sandra Green
Amelinda Smith
Stephen E. Pierce
Stacy Allen Cude

II: Here are the 3 senior management and board members from 2005/2006 that are still working at Zion Oil in 2024 (today). Are these the GOOD, those loyal few who stuck with John Brown? Or are these the BAD, people who collected quarter to half million dollar salaries (5 to 10 million each over 20 years), taking investor money for themselves and not doing much at all for the investor in return?

William H. Avery
Paul Oroian
Kent S. Siegel

III: And here is the one, I think, that as time went on, is all three; the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY

Givot Olam had 800 barrels a day in Israel, use that as an example. Basically, Givot Olam bankrupted the Limited Partnership over it's 4 1/2 years of operation. The problem as I see it; senior management collected royalities on production, using funds from the Limited Partnership to cover the wells operating losses (so the General Partners had no reason to halt a losing operation, cause they got paid the royalities which are paid on gross sales without respect of cost to produce). When there was no movement on the proposed 40 well development plan for their billion barrel oil find, and the Limited Partners were asked to keep paying, they caught on. So, what I'm saying is, you need at least 1000 barrels a day to break even just with the operations in Israel.

And that won't cover the massive 250 million hole they created in the investor pocketbooks.

And for those who say, how can you lose with $100 a barel oil with a thousand barrels a day, keep in mind the following: Royalities to Israel, 12.5%. Royalities to charity, 6%. Royalites for senior management bonus, 1.5%. Resource depletion tax, 45.52%. Israel corporate tax, 25%. And what you have left over pays for the operations. Anything leftover should go to the stockholders, but most likely, will go to senior managment and board members with additional bonus. The numbers are from the 2015 annual report for the the Megiddo lease that was granted. Simply do a cntrl-F on the annual report issued in March of 2016 (the 2015 annual report availabe on Edgar), and search the numbers I gave or the keywords (like depletion, royality, taxes etc).

And of course, the 12.5%, the 6%, the 1.5%, and the 45.52% are paid on gross sales, without regard to the cost to produce.
