Application has been made to the Irish Stock Exchange and the UK Listing
Authority for 1,130,903 ordinary shares of nominal value of Euro0.32 each in the
capital of Anglo Irish Bank Corporation plc to be admitted to the Official List
of the Irish Stock Exchange and the UK Listing Authority and application has
been made to the Irish stock Exchange and to the London Stock Exchange for these
shares to be admitted to trading.  These shares have been issued pursuant to the
Anglo Irish Banks Corporation plc Scrip Dividend Scheme dated December 1997.



Such admission is expected to become effective and dealings to commence on these
shares on 30 January 2004.
