CODASciSys announces Euro4.7million new business in Space & Defence Division
CODASciSys plc ("CODASciSys", stock code: CSY), the Chippenham-based supplier of
specialist software, consultancy and IT services, announces that it has secured
new business of Euro4.7million in the Space & Defence sector.
Its Space & Defence Division will undertake additional work totalling
Euro2.7million for the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological
Sciences (EUMETSAT) to maintain and enhance software for its Meteosat Second
Generation (MSG) ground control facility. Additionally, it recently won a
Euro2million contract to develop the ground segment software for the first
spacecraft in the European Space Agency's (ESA) Galileo project.
CODASciSys has been working with EUMETSAT on its MSG project for the past six
years and the additional work is to extend the capabilities of the system,
introduce a number of new enhancements and provide support until the end of
2005.
Galileo will provide Europe with its own global navigation satellite system,
providing a highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service. CODASciSys'
role includes development and support of the mission control system that
monitors and controls the first spacecraft from the ground and a high fidelity
spacecraft simulator which is fundamental for testing and operation of the
system.
Both projects will be delivered over the next two years.
Graham Steinsberg, CEO of CODASciSys said, "We are delighted to be enhancing our
relationships further with EUMETSAT and ESA through this additional work. This
serves to highlight our position as a leading supplier of ground control
systems."
