Data Respons ASA: Strong quarter for Data Respons
July 14 2017 - 2:30AM
- Our strong position within industrial digitalisation,
smarter embedded solutions and IoT gave another record quarter for
the group. The positive development internationally, combined with
higher activity levels in both business areas provides good
momentum going into the second half, says Kenneth Ragnvaldsen, CEO
of Data Respons ASA.
Operating revenue for the second quarter was NOK 311.6 million
(263.2), a growth of 18 %. EBITDA amounted to NOK 23.1 million
(17.4). EBIT was NOK 20.0 (16.5). Operating cash flow was NOK 47.6
million (19.8). Order intake for the period was NOK 333 million
(296).
Operating revenue for the first half year was NOK
605.1 million (506.8), a growth of 19 %. EBITDA was NOK 47.3
million (30.6). EBIT was NOK 41.4 (28.6). Operating cash flow
was NOK 31.1 million (24.3). Order intake for the period was NOK
695 million (608). The group's order backlog at the end of the
quarter was NOK 802 million (779).
High demand for specialists
- We experience a strong development
in the R&D Services segment with a growth of 23 % in the second
quarter with an EBITDA margin of 10 %. We are particularly pleased
with the quarter as it had considerably fewer working days in
comparison to the second quarter last year. Our specialist skills
and expertise are highly relevant to the technology trends that
characterise our society today. Data Respons is currently involved
in more than a hundred exciting development projects that span from
connected and autonomous cars to smarter and robotised factories,
which makes us attractive for our customers, partners and skilled
engineers, says Ragnvaldsen.
Increased SW focus
The Solutions segment showed 12 % growth and improved profitability
in the second quarter. The continued positive development
internationally counteract the more demanding Maritime, Oil &
Gas market in Norway. - We clearly see the advantage of having a
more diversified customer portfolio in regards to both vertical
markets and regions. The SW focus becomes increasingly important
within the Solutions segment as everything becomes «smarter».
Today's development of innovative products is more demanding in
terms of competence and skills needed, which favors specialist
companies like us. The SW focus in combination with good cost
discipline gave improved results in the quarter, says Kenneth
Ragnvaldsen, CEO of Data Respons.
Expect a good
development ahead
- The world is getting more digitalised, automated and connected.
For both established and new customers this means greater focus on
new development and upgrades of their products, platforms and
systems. Good market conditions, high activity levels and a solid
order reserve provides a good starting point for second half,
Ragnvaldsen concludes.
