                      Directors Shareholding Notification

("Galen" or the "Company") (LSE:GAL, Nasdaq: GALN) has today received the
following notification pertaining to Dr John King's holding in Galen Holdings'
shares and dated today:

"I wish to formally notify Galen Holdings PLC that my entire shareholding of
14,475,306 10p Ordinary shares in Galen Holdings PLC has been transferred from
my company Arindale Investments Limited to another company Atwood Limited.  I am
100% shareholder of both Atwood Limited and Arindale Investments Limited.
Accordingly there is no change in the Galen shares beneficially owned by me
which represents 7.69% of the issue share capital of Galen Holdings PLC."
