SPDR S&P Regional Banking (KRE) News

Back in 2009 this was below $19. Hmmm.

Chart getting very bearish here...
Now 4 months of overhead resistance,
It keeps getting rejected by the 20, solid sell volume in June.
A break of support, which is near, should trigger a solid downward move.

KRE

This is one of the worst looking indexes out there presently and IMHO,
There's apprehension of business expansion and anticipated loan defaults.

$KRE has done very well since the Election. This dip is a good entry point IMHO.

Regional Banking is a great place to be. So many positive factors in the next 6 months for large regional banks:

MMJ
Unwinding of Dodd-Frank - regulatory compliance
Unwinding of Dodd-Frank - relaxed capital holding requirements
Interest Rate increases

$KRE is a very smart way to have exposure to some of the largest regional banks.

This Regional Banking sector grinds up

and up over the last 6 weeks. As Yellen threatens rate hikes this year, this ETF is airborne and going to fly high for 12+ months! IMHO.

How we Greece effect this ETF?

We are about to find out. Stocks are taking 2%+ hits in Asia, but what will US interest rates do in this situation?

My guess is down & down.

1.5 hours and we will know the ST trend. Long term trend is up as experts expect 2 rate increases this year and 4 next year. The S&P may not like that, but should be the LT exception. OCICBW

The KRE ETF is based on the SPDR S&P Regional Bank index. It contains 89 holdings, and the the top ten names only comprise 13% of the fund, which means it’s highly diversified within the sector. It’s got just over $2 billion in AUM, so the KRE is not responsible for driving the stocks it is comprised of – the stocks themselves are being bought.

The trailing-12 month yield is just 1.6% on KRE, meaning this is not going higher as part of a chase for yield. Investors presumably seek capital gain when they buy KRE, as the annual dividend here is not greater than that being offered by the S&P 500.
