On September 25, 2024, Ocean Power Technologies, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing a Memorandum of Understanding with Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is hereby incorporated by reference.

 

On September 27, 2024, the Company issued a press release announcing that it has shipped multiple WAM-V on a previously announced sole source contract to a department of the U.S. Government. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.2 and is hereby incorporated by reference.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ, September 25, 2024- Ocean Power Technologies, Inc. (NYSE American: OPTT) (“OPT” or the “Company”), a leader in innovative and cost-effective low-carbon marine power, data, and service solutions, today announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial (SENAI Innovation Institute for Virtual Production Systems from Firjan) in Brazil to explore collaborating together toward Blue Economy opportunities including deployment of WAM-V^® autonomous and unmanned surface vehicles and Next Generation PowerBuoys^® equipped with AI capable Merrows™. This agreement follows recent discussions between SENAI and OPT in Brazil.

 

Philipp Stratmann, CEO and President of OPT, expressed his enthusiasm about this MOU, stating, “As we continue our growth, we are excited to partner with SENAI to explore supporting the development and deployment of ocean technologies into Brazil. Ocean Power Technologies Ships Multiple Unmanned Surface Vehicles to US Government

 

Delivery leads to revenue recognition

 

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ, September 27, 2024- Ocean Power Technologies, Inc. (NYSE American: OPTT) (“OPT” or the “Company”), a leader in innovative and cost-effective low-carbon marine power, data, and service solutions, today announced it has shipped for prompt delivery multiple WAM-Vs on a previously announced sole source contract to a Department of the US Government.

 

Delivery of the vehicles leads to revenue recognition. Due to the sensitive nature of this relationship, terms have not been disclosed.

 

This delivery will build on the recent commercial success of OPT’s vehicles and PowerBuoys^® for autonomous Maritime Domain Awareness, Counter Unmanned Underwater Vehicles, and Mine Counter Measure Solutions in North America, Sub Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.
