RAE Systems Inc. (NYSE Amex: RAE) today announced it is mobilizing its production and global field-support resources to assist the people and government of Japan, along with international aid agencies and first responders, to protect against radioactive and toxic gases that have been released in the wake of the Japan earthquake and tsunami.

RAE Systems is ramping production of existing radiological detection, volatile organic compound (VOC) monitors and related equipment, and is looking to speed introduction of new systems in response to the growing demand by international organizations. Additionally, RAE Systems is implementing additional 24/7-support capabilities at its San Jose, Calif. headquarters to handle increased customer requirements as they pertain to Japan, as well as ensuring its existing personnel and distribution partners already in country have the resources they need to effectively respond to the rapidly changing disaster scenarios.

"RAE Systems is committed to helping the people of Japan," said Thomas Nègre, vice president of marketing for RAE Systems. "As we did during the Gulf of Mexico crisis in 2010, our employees and channel partners are stepping up to help protect against radiological and toxic threats."
