HOLDING IN COMPANY


The Company today reveived notification from Scottish Widows Investment
Partnership Limited that they are interested in 6,866,698 ordinary shares of 1p
each in the Company ("Shares"),. Of this interest, 6,226,757, representing
approximately 3.83% of the Company's issued share capital, comprise a material
and notifiable interest.


The notifcation is made on behalf of Lloyds TSB Group plc, Lloyds TSB Bank plc
and Scottish Widows Group Limited, who are also deemed to be interested in the
Shares, being companies within the Lloyds TSB Group of companies.


The material interest is registered in the name of State Street Nominees
Limited, under various designations.
