On 15 December 2003, 3i European Technology Trust plc announced that it had
purchased 1,000,000 of its own Ordinary Shares of 1p each, for cancellation.
The Company now confirms that these shares were cancelled in two tranches as
follows:

1       269,116 shares were cancelled on 30 December 2003.

2       730,884 shares were cancelled on 2 January 2004.

The Company's issued share capital is now 345,500,002 Ordinary Shares of 1p
each.
