SulNOx Group Plc
(the "Company" or "SulNOx")
Chile patent
granted
(Aquis Stock Exchange:
SNOX)
SulNOx, the greentech innovation company helping industry reduce
emissions, lower fuel costs and meet sustainability targets,
is pleased to announce that it has secured
a further patent in Chile.
Consistent with patents for the US,
Europe, Eurasia, Georgia, South Africa, China, Indonesia and
Singapore granted to SulNOx to date, this latest patent
covers a range of formulation versions which
includes both the Berol® 6446 Heavy Sulphur Fuel Oils (HSFO)
emulsifiers and SulNOxEco™ Fuel Conditioners which enhance all
diesel, petrol/gasoline and biofuels, and marine fuels including
Marine Gas Oil (MGO) and Marine Diesel Oil (MDO), Very and Ultra
Low Sulphur Fuel Oils (VLSFO/ULSFO) and HSFO.
Chile is an important new patent for
SulNOx, extending the Company's reach among global customers and
industry sectors to South America for the first time. The world's
southernmost country, Chile shares borders with Argentina, Peru and
Bolivia. It is a global player in mining, producing 24% of the
world's copper and 30% of lithium (Source: US International Trade
Administration, 2023). In addition, Chile is a major
maritime country, with its freight port at San Antonio serving as a
significant facility in the south Pacific. The country's largest
trading partners are, respectively, China and the USA.
Santiago, Chile's capital city, is
the world's second most polluted city (Source: World Air Quality Index,
2024). Situated in a valley, Santiago's toxic gases are
easily trapped in the city bowl, with high levels of particulate
matter in the air. The present PM2.5 concentration is 2.5 times the
World Health Organisation's recommended limit. Air pollution has
caused an estimated 4,000 deaths annually in Santiago in recent
years.
Ben Richardson, CEO
of SulNOx, commented:
"Chile is a major addition to our growing patent portfolio,
representing a unique combined opportunity: enhanced access,
supported by intellectual property, to a huge mining sector
emitting high levels of greenhouse gases, as well as the prospect
for helping to tackle urban air pollution that is among the world's
worst. This exciting new development equips us well to grow our
revenue pipeline in an entirely new continent for
SulNOx."
