--U.K.-based EG Group is considering a bid for Caltex Australia Ltd., which could pit it against Canada's Alimentation Couche-Tard for a takeover of Caltex Australia, Bloomberg reported citing unnamed sources.

--EG Group is working with a financial adviser for a possible offer for Caltex, which has a market value of 8.7 billion Australian dollars (US$6 billion), but no final decisions have been made, Bloomberg reported.
