ERA 2009 Uranium Oxide Production Falls 2% To 5,240 Tons

Energy Resources Australia Ltd. (ERA.AU) said Wednesday that it
produced 5240 metric tons of uranium oxide in 2009, down 2% on
year, after producing 1140 tons in the three months to Dec. 31.
In a statement the group, which is around 68.4%-owned by Rio
Tinto Ltd.(RTP), said December quarter production was 19% lower
than the three months to Sept. 30, and 30% lower than the December
quarter of 2008.
It said total uranium oxide sales for 2009 rose to 5497 tons, up
from 5272 tons a year earlier, which marked the third-highest
result on record. The average realized sale price for its uranium
oxide for 2009 was US$50.84 per pound, up 56% on the previous
year.
