I am now getting daily reports from the Argentina customs website that shows 'actual' shipments being made from Orocobre's plant through the Jujuy sales combine. I will try to keep you updated when possible.

The BOLD figures are the price per ton and the RED figures are the tons in that particular shipment. It's a little difficult to translate the entire customs document but I think you get the idea.

So rounding off the decimals, the tonnage shipped so far the FIRST WEEK of August is 1190 TONS. Most of the shipments are over $7000 per ton to over $10,000 per ton (not bad) :)

Orocobre Will Sell Its Lithium Carbonate At $10,000+/t In Q3

Must Read July, 14, 2016 7:39 AM ET 6 comments | About: Orocobre Ltd. (OROCF)

The Investment Doctor,The Investment Doctor Follow(3,345followers)

Summary

Orocobre has reached the break-even status on the operating front, and should reach nameplate capacity at Olaroz in the next few months.

The high lithium price will be very welcome, and the operating margin will be 75% in the third quarter.

Orocobre is planning to double the production capacity by the end of 2018, which makes a lot of sense at the current lithium price.

Orocobre is fairly valued at $7,500 lithium, but should the Li price remain at $10,000, there still is upside potential.

These are the July figures coming out of Orocobre...they are a bit hard to read in this format...but there were about 510 tons shipped the first week of July.....and keep in mind that this is not top grade lithium carbonate. The higher the grade to more it will sell for.
Price per ton was close to $5500 for prior commitments with new pricing at $10,500

Production continues to grow this quarter. In spite of people like Joe Lowry, who are on LAC's payroll badmouthing Orocobre and a few others while lauding that POS LAC. He claims to be the 'authority' on lithium...but looks more to me to be a pawn. He is eating crow like billyboy on their downside evaluations on ORE.

I have been pulling reports from Argentina customs on deliveries from Orocobre. You can't fudge those figures as they are government records on export of materials. That is one weeks shipments. Works out close to 1000 tons a month now. That is quite and increase from beginning of the year.

June 20, 2016:

He deletes me for anything....he finally banned me because Orocobre is doing so much better than his prize investment.

good to hear Momma stuck it out through the darker days of construction. I had a word with Richard Seville last night and he said "you can't imagine how much progress we have made over the past year". I couldn't get any specifics out of him for obvious reasons...but his attitude is very upbeat and apparently they made some good connections at the Las Vegas conference recently. He did say they have refined their operation to the point where they should be able to get 75 tons per day out of the plant by early next year.......do the math. To bad the others didn't get on this ride when they had the chance....I tried to tell them. Orocobre has been getting massive coverage and upgrades this week...probably what's causing this great runup. Can't be long before we will be applying for a listing at the NASDAQ. From what I understand the papers are ready once the stock reaches $5 per share. Then you are going to have institutional buyers able to buy....that will be the ultimate feather in the cap. At that point I think $10 will come sooner than most think.

Research News

Global demand for lithium carbonate will outpace supply during 2016-2017 says new research report
WhaTech Channel: Materials & Chemicals Research
Published: 11 May 2016
Submitted by RNR Market Research. WhaTech Agency
News from RnR Market Research

The booming sales of new energy vehicles worldwide will boost lithium carbonate consumption significantly. According to estimates, every 100,000 new energy vehicles (electric bus (40%), electric sedan (20%), hybrid bus (25%), and hybrid sedan (15%)) will create a demand of 5,000 tons to 8,000 tons of battery-grade Lithium Carbonate, about a rise of 5%-8% in global demand for battery-grade lithium carbonate.

Driven by a surge in sales volume of new energy vehicles in China, the upstream material- lithium carbonate was in short supply in the fourth quarter of 2015 with soaring prices. Global lithium carbonate output increased by 12.3% year on year to 202,800 tons in 2015 and is expected to arrive at 244,200 tons in 2016, 288,900 tons in 2017, and 341,000 tons in 2018, a rise of 20.4%, 18.3%, and 18.4% from a year ago, respectively.

Report at http://www.rnrmarketresearch.com/contacts/?rname=457307

Major manufacturers are Albemarle, FMC, Orocobre, Galaxy Resources, Sichuan Tianqi Lithium Industries, Qinghai Salt Lake Industry, Sichuan Sichuan Ni & Co Guorun New Materials Co., Ltd., Sichuan Jixiang Lithium Co., Ltd., Shanghai China Lithium Industrial Co., Ltd.

The price of lithium carbonate in China has been going straight up since Oct 2015 with that of industrial-grade and battery-grade lithium carbonate rising substantially (to RMB120,000/t and RMB150,000/t in Jan 2016, respectively, when battery-grade lithium hydroxide was quoted at RMB140,000/t, compared with the bottom price of lithium carbonate standing at RMB50,000/t).

It is expected that global demand for lithium carbonate will outpace supply during 2016-2017, leading to a continued price rise during this period.
As new lithium carbonate capacities are gradually released after 2017, the price will tend to stabilize.

Global lithium resources are primarily concentrated in Chile and China. However, as the Chinese lithium carbonate manufacturers are restrained by production technology, the supply of capacity is limited and Chile and Australia hold the lion’s share of global capacity.

The world’s top3 players- Galaxy, FMC, and Rockwood together seize more than 56% market share, which give them a strong bargaining power over downstream companies and powerful pricing power and allow them to adjust prices according to market supply & demand and changes in production costs. Global lithium carbonate companies have successively expanded capacity so as to meet ever-increasing market demand in recent years.

Meanwhile, a large number of newcomers outside the industry build new capacity and get involved in lithium carbonate business, thus reducing the concentration of the industry.

Chinese lithium carbonate suppliers can be principally divided into two categories: salt lake providers represented by Tibet Urban Development and Investment, spodumene providers represented by Sichuan Tianqi Lithium Industries and Galaxy Resources. The exploitation of salt lakes in China is still in its infancy with small capacity, while spodumene providers represented by Sichuan Tianqi Lithium Industries are relatively competitive.

In 2014, China produced 43,000 tons of lithium carbonate, a year-on-year rise of 16.5%, 23,000 tons of lithium hydroxide monohydrate, up 4.5% over the previous year and mainly concentrated in Sichuan, and 2,600 tons of lithium metal, an increase of 13% from a year ago, compared with global output of around 4,000 tons. An output of 49,000 tons and apparent consumption of 74,000 tons caused a supply gap of 25,000 tons in 2015, and the gap is expected to reach 31,400 tons in 2020, creating brisk demand for imports.

We believe that as the Chinese government scales up its support for new energy vehicles, the demand for battery-grade lithium carbonate will be a tipping point. China’s demand for battery-grade lithium carbonate was about 27,800 tons in 2015 and is expected to exceed 100,000 tons in 2020.

The country’s total demand for lithium carbonate will increase at annual rate of 20% over the next couple years, higher than the global average and approximating 167,000 tons in 2020.

Report at http://www.rnrmarketresearch.com/contacts/?rname=457307

Global and China Lithium Carbonate Industry Report, 2016-2020 by ResearchInChina highlights the followings:

well for those who found me here at Orocobre's real chat room ...welcome. The OROCF room is nothing but a joke now that Billy and his sidekick Loverlord have taken over as moderators. They are trying their best to screw up any meaningful news from the company.
If you look at the board they have listed it as a 'Boric Acid' company. That should give you an indication of their intent.

This is some interesting news out of the oil conference this weekend

Saudi Arabia prepares for post-oil era by setting up world's biggest sovereign investment fund

The $2trn fund is aimed to move the country's economy away from its dependence on oil.

The $2tn (£1.4tn) wealth fund will be created by selling off state petroleum company Aramco's assets in a dramatic plan to transform the country's economy, which heavily relies on the oil industry.

The megafund will be enough money to buy the four largest US companies, Apple, Google's parent company Alphabet, Microsoft and Berkshire Hathaway.

Production since January 2015 has been increasing....the rate of production keeps increasing monthly. Better reliable incremental increases in my opinion.

When the production rate of 17,500 tons per year was estimated a few years ago the price of lithium carbonate was around $4500 per ton. Recently the prices have gone as high as $7500-$8000. With those numbers...about half the rate of production should get us to the same place in the short term.

As usual...buy before the report...sell into the news. Maybe day traders think they are smart...but everyone who has been holding this company the past few years are the smart ones. The beginning is here...and the end isn't anywhere near. The people who buy and sell must have to pay utility bills and other monthly stuff. The smart money hasn't budged.

I wonder if Orocobre can open on the ASX with a gap, then continue to move, which in turn would result in the North American markets resuming upward moves, when they open,in order to keep the balance of the share prices between the two markets.
