What’s more, the obituary refers to her husband, Ern, who is listed as “dec”, meaning deceased. Whether Ern has an obituary or not, he is the same Ern who was

Proactive - Interviews for investors
Quantum Base to list on AIM with £5M IPO plan
Quantum Base CEO Tom Taylor joined Stephen Gunnion in the Proactive studio with more about the company’s upcoming listing on the AIM market and its breakthrough anti-counterfeiting technology. Quantum Base, founded in 2013 as a spin-out from Lancaster University, has developed an atomic fingerprint that offers 100% secure authentication of goods, scannable with any smartphone. “It tells you 100% if something is real or it's fake,” Taylor said, describing the technology as a major leap in the fight against counterfeiting. Taylor explained that the technology has applications across sectors including brand protection, pharmaceuticals, tax stamps, banknotes, passports and even aerospace parts. The firm is already working with clients globally—from North America to the Middle East—and targeting both commercial brands and government organisations. The IPO is expected to raise £5 million, with £4.70 million already committed and trading set to begin on Friday under the ticker QUBE. The retail offer remains open. “We really want to grow… AIM really helps us grow,” Taylor said, noting the listing will support product development and expansion into new verticals. Key uses of the funds will include expanding Quantum Base’s commercial team and scaling its product reach into global markets. Looking ahead, Taylor said investors should watch for announcements of new customers and entry into new industries as milestones on the path to profitability. Arc Minerals expands portfolio with acquisition of Chingola Copper Project in Zambia
Arc Minerals Limited (AIM:ARCM) executive chairman Nick von Schirnding and chief operating officer Vassilios Carellas joined Stephen Gunnion in the Proactive studio with details of the company’s latest acquisition—the Chingola Copper Project in Zambia. Von Schirnding highlighted that the project is located in the northeast of the Zambian Copper Belt, an area known for high-grade copper deposits. The site is less than 30km from major existing operations, including Vedanta’s Nchanga Mine and Moxico Resources’ Mimbula Mine. He described the acquisition as strategic, adding that Arc Minerals has been pursuing it for 18 months due to its high prospectivity. Carellas detailed the financial terms of the deal, explaining that Arc Minerals has committed an initial $75,000, with milestone-based payments tied to drilling and resource confirmation. He emphasised that the transaction is structured to limit financial risk, allowing the company to exit if exploration does not yield the expected results. Von Schirnding also reassured investors that the company’s upcoming exploration work at Chingola is fully funded, with soil sampling expected to commence soon. The project will add to Arc Minerals’ growing portfolio, which includes its joint venture with Anglo American in Zambia’s northwest and assets in Botswana. Carellas noted that Chingola’s geological potential remains largely untested in the last 20 years, making it a prime target for new exploration techniques. The company expects active news flow as soil sampling and drilling programs progress. Arc Minerals also provided updates on its joint venture with Anglo American, confirming that preparations are underway for drilling to commence soon. Stay tuned for more updates on Arc Minerals’ progress. Titan Mining reports record 2024 production, expands resources
Titan Mining President Rita Adiani joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company’s year-end results, highlighting record production and strong financial performance in 2024. The company met the upper end of its production guidance, while costs were 10% lower than the low end of its all-in sustaining cost (AISC) guidance. In Q4 2024, Titan Mining produced 21.7 million pounds of payable zinc, marking a 56% increase compared to Q4 2023. Total full-year 2024 production reached 59.5 million pounds. The company also posted Q4 revenues of $26.3 million, representing a 318% increase from Q3 2024 and a 241% increase from Q4 2023. Adiani also shared updates on the company’s mineral resource expansion, noting that Titan completed an updated mineral resource estimate and extended the mine life for ESM’s zinc operations until 2033. The updated estimate reports a 22% increase in measured and indicated contained zinc pounds compared to the 2020 resource estimate. In addition to its zinc operations, Titan completed a maiden mineral resource estimate for the Kilbourne Graphite Project. The project now holds an open-pit constrained inferred mineral resource of 22 million U.S. short tons, with an average grade of 2.91% (Cg), containing 653,000 tons of graphite at a 1.50% cut-off grade. #proactiveinvestors #titanminingcorporation #tsx #ti #otcqb #timcf #TitanMining #ZincProduction #GraphiteMining #BatteryMetals #CriticalMinerals #MiningStocks #TSX #RitaAdiani #EVMaterials #GraphiteUSA #MiningExpansion #AgustaGroup #ProactiveInvestors

European defense spending boom: Key investment opportunities amid global shifts
Jane Edmondson, Head of Index Product Strategy at TMXVettaFi, joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the rapidly evolving global defense landscape and its investment implications. With geopolitical tensions on the rise and shifting defense priorities, investors must navigate new opportunities and risks in the sector. Edmondson highlighted Europe's unprecedented surge in defense spending, a direct response to the U.S. decision to scale back military aid to Ukraine. Central to this shift is the European Union’s €800 billion "Rearm Europe Readiness 2030" initiative, aimed at bolstering military preparedness. This includes substantial investments across key defense technologies and a dedicated €150 billion credit facility to enhance military capabilities. “There’s going to be a lot of spending to come,” Edmondson noted, emphasizing major growth areas such as artificial intelligence, cyber defense, drone technology, and advanced artillery systems. She pointed out that leading European defense firms—including Rheinmetall, BAE Systems, Thales, Dassault, and Leonardo SPA—stand to benefit significantly from this expansion. Additionally, South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace is emerging as a key player in global defense contracts. In contrast, U.S. defense companies are experiencing headwinds due to budget cuts and canceled procurement deals, leading to a relative downturn in the sector. Another critical shift in global defense procurement is unfolding as traditional U.S. allies reconsider their defense purchases. Canada and Portugal, for instance, are re-evaluating orders for U.S.-made F-35 fighter jets in favor of alternative options, such as aircraft from Dassault Aviation. Edmondson stressed that these geopolitical realignments are creating strong economic tailwinds, particularly for Germany, which is set to invest an estimated €500 billion in defense over the next several years. She cited a recent Goldman Sachs report, which projects that half of this spending will
