BASF Announces Appointment of Prevost to Head Global Performance Chemicals

Breunig Promoted to President of North American Regional Division
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BASF today
announced that Patrick M. Prevost has been named President of the
company's global Performance Chemicals operating division, based in
Ludwigshafen, Germany, effective October 1, 2005. Prevost has been

announced that Joseph C. Breunig will succeed Prevost as Executive
Vice President of BASF Corp. and President of the Chemicals,
Plastics and Performance Products regional division in North
America, effective October 1, 2005. Previously, Breunig served as
Group Vice President of the company's Functional Polymers business
in North America. Klaus Peter Loebbe, Chairman and Chief Executive

roles." Prevost joined BASF in 2003 from BP Chemicals where he was
head of strategy and planning based in London. Prevost earned an
MBA from the University of Chicago and a degree in chemistry from
the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Breunig joined BASF in
1986 and has worked in a variety of engineering, manufacturing, and
marketing roles. He holds an MBA and a degree in chemical
