Notification of Disclosable Interest dated 23 July 2003

Ramco Energy plc announces that it has been notified that, following the sale of
shares in the Company, Prudential plc and certain of its subsidiary companies
have decreased their notifiable interest under S198 of the Companies Act 1985 in
the issued share capital of the Company. The total investment held by Prudential
plc is 1,013,636 ordinary 10p shares representing 3.68% of the issued share
capital.
