MILAN--Italian engineering services provider Saipem SpA (SPM.MI)
Tuesday said it had won new drilling contracts worth about $500
million.
MAIN FACTS:
- Saipem said in a statement it had signed a two-year extension
of a contract with Eni SpA (ENI.MI) for the charter of a rig off
the coast of Italy.
- In Nigeria, it obtained a contract for the extension of the
charter of a semi-submersible rig by Addax Petroleum.
- It signed an 18-month extension of its contract with NDC for
the charter of a rig engaged in drilling activities off Abu Dhabi's
coast.
- Saipem also said it had obtained an increase in rates of
existing contracts for the charter of two rigs in Angola and
Mozambique.
- In onshore drilling, it received from several clients
contracts for 14 rigs in South America, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan
and Italy.
