The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.

On Saturday, ConocoPhillips (COP) Sweeny, Texas refinery restarted a process unit, according to an environmental filing. The report does not specify which unit restarted but it does mention the restart caused the coker to flare.

On Friday, BP PLC (BP) Texas City refinery experienced at upset at its ultraformer No. 4, according to a state environmental filing.

On Friday, LyondellBasell started up a depropanizer tower at its fluid catalytic cracking unit at the 270,600-barrel-a-day Houston refinery, according to a report filed with state environmental regulators.

Irving Oil expects unplanned work at a process unit, identified as the FCCU by traders doing business with the Canadian refiner, to conclude early in the week starting May 10. The unit was shut for repairs on May 6.

Shell Oil Corp.'s (RDSB) Anancortes, Washington, refinery was at planned rates and has lifted the force majeure on crude oil receipts to the refinery in place since April 23 following a plant-wide shutdown owing to a power failure.

An FCCU at ExxonMobil's (XOM) Baton Rouge, La., refinery remained shuttered on May 8 after a leak in an expansion joint sent nine workers to area hospitals for evaluation for carbon monoxide exposure. They were released to work. No estimate on FCCU restart.

Alon USA (ALJ) said a brief power interruption on May 7 at its Big Spring, Texas refinery caused emissions at a sulfur recovery unit, an FCCU and crude flare. The report did not say whether the event had an impact on operations.

Alon USA's naphtha hydrotreater at its Paramount, Calif., refinery will take 10 weeks to restart following an April malfunction, the company said on May 7.

Total USA (TOT) on May 7 shut unit 837 at its Port Arthur, Texas refinery for two weeks of maintenance. The refinery also restarted unit 813 on May 7. Both units were only identified by number.

Tesoro (TSO) will perform about 39 days of turnaround maintenance in the second quarter at a hydrocracker and reformer at its Golden Eagle refinery in Martinez, Calif. A turnaround of similar length will occur in the fourth quarter at its Wilmington, Calif., refinery, the company said on May 7.

Delek US (DK) said it will on May 7 attempt to restart the fluid catalytic cracking unit at its Tyler, Texas, refinery after a failed first try.

Shell will perform turnaround maintenance at a crude unit and coker unit at its Martinez, Calif., refinery from July 10 to Aug. 15, refiners and traders doing business with Shell said on May 6.

Western Refining (WNR) will shut its El Paso, Texas, refinery for 10 days in June, the company said on May 6.

Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said on May 5 that the crude unit at its Delaware refinery was in restart mode; a key gasoline making FCCU was back on-line on May 4 following an extended outage. Other units will be restarted over the next few days. The refinery was shut on March 4 for economic reasons while work continued, since Feb. 15, at the plant's coker unit.

Delek US on May 5 will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the restart of its 60,000-barrels-a-day Tyler, Texas, refinery, the company said on April 30. The plant was shut following a fatal fire on Nov. 20, 2008.
