Italian broadband company Tiscali SpA (TIS.MI) said Friday it nine-month net loss widened to EUR418.4 million following a EUR345 million capital loss booked after the sale of its U.K. assets.

Its net loss was EUR98.2 million in the same period a year earlier.

In May, Tiscali sold its U.K. assets to Carphone Warehouse Group PLC (CPW.LN) for GBP236 million, while talks to sell its Italian activities didn't reach a conclusion.
