ROME (MF-Dow Jones)--Italy's telecommunication regulator AGCOM approved an increase in 2010-2012 unbundling tariffs, which Italy's largest telecoms group Telecom Italia SpA (TI) charges its rivals to access its fixed-line network, people familiar with the matter said Thursday.

The tariffs' increase approved by AGCOM is smaller than the one previously proposed and submitted to a public consultation with alternative operators, which includes Fastweb SpA (FWB.MI), Vodafone (VOD) and Tiscali SpA (TIS.MI).

According to the sources, the unbundling tariffs will be increased from the current EUR8.49 a month to EUR8.70/month in 2010; to EUR9.14/month in 2011 and to EUR9.48/month in 2012.

An AGCOM spokesman declined to immediately comment.
