A decision on who will be the next chief executive of state-controlled utility Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR) will be made public following a board meeting that will take place Sunday or Monday, French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde said Tuesday.

The board meeting will take place "Sunday or Monday," Lagarde said in an interview on France Inter radio.

"You will know after the board meeting" who will be the new CEO, Lagarde added.

The mandate of EDF's current CEO, Pierre Gadonneix, is due to expire in November.
