International stocks trading in New York closed higher on Monday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts rose 0.7% to 149.25. The European index increased 0.9% to 146.25, the Asian index rose 0.3% to 170.26, the Latin American index increased 0.2% to 188.01 and the emerging markets index was 0.1% higher at 283.27.

AXA SA and Bunzl PLC were among the companies with ADRs that traded actively.

ADRs of AXA gained 3.7% after the French insurer said it is selling most of its stake in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA through an accelerated bookbuilding.

ADRs of Bunzl gained 3.4% after the London-listed distribution and outsourcing group said 2022 pretax profit and revenue rose but missed consensus and backed its guidance for 2023.

ADRs of Associated British Foods PLC increased 2.9% after the British conglomerates raised its fiscal 2023 outlook as inflationary pressures begin to decline.
