Document, Records Management System Supports International Agency's
Operations CHICAGO, Aug. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- For the
global agency dedicated to the fight against doping in sport,
implementing innovative technological solutions for electronic
document management is an important task. The organization, the
World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), has chosen a document and records
management software solution from Open Text(TM) Corporation
(NASDAQ: OTEXNASDAQ:TSX:NASDAQ:OTC), a leading provider of
Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software. WADA will use the
Open Text Livelink ECM solution to manage information security and
controls, automate internal functions, and facilitate
intra-organizational communication. Based in Montreal, WADA was
founded in 1999 as the international independent organization to
promote, coordinate, and monitor the fight against doping in sport
in all its forms. Composed and funded equally by the sports
movement and governments of the world, WADA coordinated the
development and implementation of the World Anti-Doping Code
(Code), the document harmonizing anti-doping policies in all sports
and all countries. Key Agency activities include monitoring sport
and government compliance with the Code; promoting global research
to detect emerging doping substances and methods; fostering the
establishment of anti-doping programs in under-served areas of the
world; and developing effective strategies for athlete and athlete
entourage anti-doping education. A relatively young organization,
WADA sought a software system to address fast-growing information
management needs that place a high importance on data security,
while providing flexibility for users. "Some of the information we
maintain requires strict security due to legal requirements, so
security and control over information are top priorities," said
David Howman, WADA Director General. "We also needed flexibility in
our new system so that staff can easily find, use, and share the
information they need based on their roles within the organization.
We look forward to rolling out the innovative solution offered by
Open Text to help bridge the gap between these seemingly competing
yet important priorities." About Open Text Open Text(TM) is a
