Umicore completes a € 360 million US Private Placement notes issue
May 18 2017 - 2:30AM
Umicore has successfully completed a
€ 360 million US Private Placement notes issue ("US PP").
The offering attracted strong interest from institutional investors
and was significantly oversubscribed. The transaction is composed
of a 10-year tranche of € 160 million maturing in
December 2027 and a 12-year tranche of € 200 million
maturing in December 2029. The funds will be drawn upon in December
of this year.
Through the combination of the recently announced
€ 330 million Schuldschein offering and this US PP,
Umicore substantially diversifies and extends the maturity of its
debt at attractive and fixed terms. The combined proceeds will be
used to fund Umicore's strategic growth initiatives and refinance
part of its existing debt.
J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and MUFG Securities
Americas Inc. acted as Placement Agents on the transaction.
