Dollar Surges Up To New Multi-week High Versus South African Rand

The US currency extended its previous session uptrend against
its South African counterpart during New York deals on Friday. The
greenback jumped to a new multi-week high of 7.4238 versus the rand
by about 1:50 pm ET, which may be compared to yesterday's New York
session close of 7.3080. At present, the dollar is trading at
7.3948 versus the rand. The dollar has been in an upward channel
against the rand for the past 1 week.
