Tim Suther, retail industry executive at Acxiom(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: ACXM), has been named to the executive board of directors for the Sam M. Walton College of Business Center for Retailing Excellence at the University of Arkansas. The Center for Retailing Excellence serves as a bridge between the University of Arkansas and the retailing industry, providing benefits for three groups of constituents - students, retailers and their suppliers, and faculty. Board members advise the Center on timely trends, changes and developments in business so the Walton College can more quickly incorporate real-world issues into the curriculum. Suther, whose retail group at Acxiom focuses on using customer-centricity to drive transformational marketing and merchandising results, said "customer-centricity increasingly is the key to retailers' marketing effectiveness, merchandise productivity, and relevant shopping experience. I am thrilled to work with the Walton College to help mold the next generation of retail leaders." "We welcome the addition of Acxiom and Tim Suther to our board," said Dr. Claudia Mobley, director of the Center. "We will greatly benefit from his experience and accomplishments in the field of retailing. The Center strives to be a bridge between academics and industry to help develop a constant supply of highly trained college graduates for the retailing industry. In addition, the Center supports research to address issues in the field." Since April 2005, Suther has served as Acxiom's senior leader for retail and consumer markets, fully responsible for strategy, operations and shareholder return. Acxiom (www.acxiom.com) serves many of the world's leading retailers and their trading partners in responsibly leveraging rich, accurate customer information to improve marketing performance and merchandise productivity. Suther has 24 years experience applying disruptive technology-enabled business models to achieve transformational results across a wide variety of industries.
