Acxiom Corporation (Nasdaq: ACXM) today announced a three-year
agreement to provide its secure and robust utility server, storage
and data protection services to Sonoco, a global supplier of
industrial and consumer packaging solutions founded in 1899.
The Acxiom infrastructure cloud will enable Sonoco to rapidly
deploy servers, storage and backup when needed to quickly meet
changing business demands. Because consumption is billed on a
utility, Sonoco will pay only for services used. The on-premise
nature of the solution ensures that information security is
maintained continuously.
Acxiom has provided infrastructure services to Sonoco, from
mainframe management to server management, since 1998, said Bernie
Campbell, CIO of Sonoco. Most recently, weve begun a transition
from dedicated servers to Acxioms standardized utility
environment. This move will increase efficiencies, simplify
workload management and provide redundancy and scalability.
Acxiom, which processes and protects more consumer data than
anyone in the world, currently manages Sonocos IT environment in
support of various consumer and industrial packaging, carton,
signage and pallet manufacturing locations and factories
worldwide.
Companies today are clamoring for commercial-grade, secure
services that can be provisioned quickly, said Marty Sunde,
Acxioms senior vice president of global infrastructure management
services and customer data integration. Acxioms enterprise cloud
services represent a pay-as-you-go, secure and standardized
solution that enables our customers to rapidly deploy servers,
storage and backup. It also helps them reduce the complexity of
their IT environments all critical benefits in a challenging
business climate.
Acxioms on-premise enterprise cloud services provide clients
all of the benefits of a secure, standard environment
without the capital investment. Data-intensive operations such as
Sonoco rely on a secure, robust IT infrastructure to drive daily
business operations, from manufacturing to ERP to accounting. Key
benefits offered by Acxioms cloud services include:
- Immediate cost savings
improved total cost of ownership over dedicated environments.
Increased infrastructure and labor efficiencies with savings on
average from 12-30 percent.
- Secure advanced server
and network security technologies implemented at multiple levels
ensure the highest levels of security.

systems can be up and running quickly with automated provisioning
and capacity on demand models.
