WinCal 2006 software supports Anritsu's Lightning and Scorpion
series VNAs, ensuring accurate and repeatable calibrations are
easily performed and monitored BEAVERTON, Ore., May 8
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cascade Microtech (NASDAQ:CSCD), a
worldwide leader in precise electrical measurements on small
structures, today announced it will provide WinCal(TM) 2006 high
frequency measurement system calibration software to support
Anritsu's Lightning series Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) for 1-2
port calibrations and Anritsu Scorpion series VNA in 1-4 port
calibrations. Next generation wireless and mobile communication
products require increasingly complex, higher speed semiconductors.
With this increased speed and complexity, multi-port RF
measurements are required at the wafer level for design validation
and yield enhancement in production. Cascade Microtech's WinCal
2006 software facilitates the development of high-speed
semiconductors for mobile communications by offering an easy to
use, multi-port VNA calibration tool that provides the critical
accuracy enhancement and advanced calibration needed for
measurements on wafers or other substrates. "VNAs, probe stations
and probe heads are all required elements for on- wafer
measurements. Probe stations are needed to secure the probe heads
and to manipulate the wafer. Anritsu VNAs provide the measurements
and are compatible with Cascade Microtech's WinCal 2006, which
integrates all needed pieces for a more complete customer solution.
Based on our experience, WinCal is one of the preferred solutions
of our customers, and the new 2006 version only enhances that
position," said Harry Momjian, Systems & Network Analyzers
Marketing Manager, Anritsu. "WinCal 2006 offers seamless
calibration, reduced calibration time and at the same time helps to
identify operator and repeatability errors. It is easy to use,
while offering a multitude of calibration algorithms including
custom ones targeting on-wafer applications. The overall benefit to
the customer is more accurate and faster measurements with faster
setup and calibration times. Maintaining our compatibility with
Cascade Microtech is key to our strategy of being a leader of the
RF and microwave device characterization market." Anritsu's
Lightning family of VNAs encompasses a wide range of high
performance tools designed to address the growing needs of defense,
satellite, radar, broadband communication, and optoelectronic
component markets. Complete measurement solutions to 20, 40, 50 and
65 GHz are available. "The growing number of multi-port devices has
made on-wafer calibration difficult and unreliable, increasing the
possibility for error by 2 to 4 times," said Larry Dangremond,
product marketing manager, Cascade Microtech. "WinCal 2006 provides
1-4 port VNA calibration and critical accuracy enhancement needed
to make the most precise, repeated measurements." Cascade Microtech
has updated WinCal 2006 with new ease-of-use features. These
features include guidance systems such as wizards and video
tutorials for training and easing the learning curve, an event
window for easier troubleshooting, user-customized preferences,
monitoring tools to identify possible errors as they occur,
automatic tracking of the physical elements of the system, and the
ability to qualify your system before, during and after the
measurement to ensure that the calibration process has not
experienced drift or other errors. WinCal 2006 also provides users
with industry standard calibration methods such as SOLT, LRM or
advanced algorithms such as SOLR or LRRM. Furthermore, advanced
validation and monitoring allows users to save, view and manipulate
calibration error terms, facilitating advanced wafer calibrations
unlike any other product. About Anritsu Anritsu Company
