Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of
enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and
divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced that its
customers, Chirch Global Manufacturing, LLC (Chirch Global) and
Semiconductor Tooling Services, Inc. (STS), are winners of the
seventh annual Progressive Manufacturing 100 (PM100) Awards,
selected by Managing Automation Media, a Thomas Publishing Company,
LLC publication. The PM100 recognizes best-in-class manufacturers
from around the world who are using innovative and advanced
technologies to achieve business transformation.
Both Chirch Global and STS are utilizing Epicor next-generation
enterprise resource planning (ERP) to ensure their software is
adapting along with their rapidly growing businesses. Chirch Global
was named to the PM100 in the Business Model Mastery category,
while STS was recognized as a PM100 winner in the Data &
Integration Mastery category.
"Epicor is pleased that our customers continue to be recognized
by the PM100 for their use of innovative technology with help from
our ERP solutions," said James Norwood, senior vice president,
worldwide product marketing for Epicor. "The diversity of the
companies recognized demonstrates the wide-spread capabilities of
our solutions for customers in the manufacturing industry."
Chirch Global is a precision metal stamping and fabrication
company that has been utilizing Epicor's cloud-based ERP solution,
Epicor Manufacturing Express Edition (Epicor Express), to manage
its manufacturing business using game-changing technology. "We
wanted the most current and future looking technology," said
Anthony L. Chirchirillo, CEO of Chirch Global. "Epicor, with its
roots in manufacturing and job shop applications as well as its
strong Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ERP solution, was an ideal
solution."
Chirch Global's business initiative titled, Virtually
Unstoppable: a New Business Model for Competitive Advantage, is
about embracing virtualization technology to forge a new hybrid
onshore/offshore manufacturing model, which changes the game for
leveraging technology. Through the on-demand, cloud-based Epicor
Express system, Chirch Global has the ability to access information
anywhere to support global 24/7 operations, as well as other
"virtual" technologies such as Web conferencing to support training
and quality assurance efforts to ensure consistency across its
manufacturing operations. The adoption of this new technology gives
Chirch Global a competitive advantage, which enables them not only
to win new business, but also to retain business that would have
otherwise headed overseas.
STS is an engineer and build-to-order business which takes in
expensive semiconductor production equipment, such as ion
implanters, and refurbishes them using the 75 unique elastomer
bonding formulations that the company has developed. Being on the
forefront of this bonding technology, it is critical that STS has
an efficient and reliable system to track its work, document
quality data and find correct processes that may be becoming
non-conforming.
As STS began to grow rapidly, the company also started to
encounter problems with its existing systems for tracking
materials, financials, jobs and production quality. As a result,
three years ago STS chose to implement a new ERP and quality
management platform, ultimately the next-generation Epicor 9 ERP
suite kept up with the company's growth and enabled STS to respond
more quickly and accurately to customer requests and better track
and manage internal processes like quality management and sales and
order tracking.
"With the use of our upgraded Epicor systems, the company now
has an up-to-date, unified repository of all information related to
all bonded assembly work," said John Lilleland, owner, president
and CTO of STS. "This has significantly reduced the amount of labor
required for tasks like responding to customer queries."
About The PM100 The PM100 recognizes 100
projects that have achieved distinction in at least one of the
eight core disciplines defined by Managing Automation Media as
critical to business success in the years ahead. An independent
judging panel chaired by David R. Brousell, Editor-in-Chief, and
Jeff Moad, Executive Editor of Managing Automation, reviewed
project nominations. The PM100 winners will be honored and
presented with their awards at the Awards Gala scheduled to be held
on the last day of the Manufacturing Leadership Summit 2011, May
9-11 at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. More than 200
manufacturing technology executives are expected to attend.
"As we prepare for the eventual end of the Great Recession,
these winning companies dramatically underscore how the
manufacturing industry will begin to emerge in an even stronger
position once a recovery takes a firm hold," said Brousell. "The
projects that enabled these companies to become PM100 winners
reflect great creativity and inventiveness, a determined
willingness to take risk, and an enduring resilience to continually
improve every aspect of their business. These companies are leading
the way to a better future."
