The Finish Line Youth Foundation Donates $373,070 in Q3 2017

The Finish Line Youth Foundation announced today its award of
$123,070 in grants and $250,000 in donations for Special Olympics
in the third quarter of 2017. The 16 grants to youth organizations
in 11 states support healthy lifestyles and youth development. The
Foundation’s financial commitment to Special Olympics supports
fitness initiatives that focus on helping athletes with
intellectual disabilities nationwide live a healthier
lifestyle.
“These camps and programs help children develop healthy habits
and celebrate their abilities in a variety of truly unique ways,”
said Marty Posch, Finish Line Youth Foundation president. “It is an
honor to partner with these first-class organizations supporting
life’s biggest possibilities.”
The Finish Line Youth Foundation supports qualified non-profit
organizations that provide community-based access to athletics for
children and camps that provide services to those who are
disadvantaged or disabled.
The deadline to submit grant applications for youth
organizations online for this quarter is December 31, 2017.
LEGACY GRANTS:
Little Red Door (Indianapolis) – $50,000 for the Finish
Line Fitness and Yoga Center serving 145 children and those
affected by cancer.
CAMPS:
Burns Institute (San Diego) – $5,000 for Camp Beyond the
Scar serving 50 young burn survivors.
Camp Smile-A-Mile (Birmingham, Ala.) – $5,000 for camp
sessions and programs for 400 children with cancer.
R.M. Pyles Boys Camp (Valencia, Calif.) – $5,000 for
development program and camp serving 500 disadvantaged and at-risk
youth.
Season Hospice Foundation (Rosemont, Ill.) – $5,000 to
support Camp Kangaroo weekend-long bereavement experience for 984
children.
True Friends (Annandale, Minn.) – $5,000 for camp and
enrichment challenges for 1,525 children with disabilities.
Women’s Wilderness Institute (Boulder, Colo.) – $5,000
for their girls’ wilderness adventure program serving 100 at-risk
girls ages 8-18.
HEALTHY LIFESTYLES:
Adaptive Sports New England (Boston) – $5,000 to provide
six wheelchairs serving 250 children participating in wheelchair
basketball.
Fan4Kids (Brooklyn, N.Y.) – $5,000 for Fan4Kids New York
expansion promoting fitness and nutrition to 3,000 youth.
Friends of Foster Children (West Palm Beach, Fla.) –
$5,000 for their Enriching Connections program providing school
activities and sports programs to 75 foster youth.
Girls on the Run of Central Indiana (Fishers, Ind.) –
$4,945 for their scholarship program to inspire 800 girls to be
joyful, healthy and confident.
Higher Ground (Tucson, Ariz.) – $3,125 for an athletic
fitness program for 400 low-income and disadvantaged kids
Junior Blind of America (Los Angeles) – $5,000 to support
their recreational program benefitting 630 blind or
visually-impaired children.
Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation (Las Vegas) – $5,000
to support their adaptive after-school recreation program for 100
blind and visually-impaired youth.
Playworks Education Energized (Boston) – $5,000 for
program expansion serving 47,700 youth across Massachusetts.
Vincent Village (Fort Wayne, Ind.) – $5,000 for their
active kids program for 193 homeless youth.
