Alphabet-owned Google will settle a patent infringement lawsuit
related to the technology used in certain chips.
Google and Singular Computing, which alleged the infringements
in a 2019 complaint, have entered a binding term sheet resolving
the litigation, according to a court filing.
Singular alleged that Google used patented technology created by
Singular founder Joseph Bates in its chips, which were used to run
artificial intelligence-based programs.
The case was brought in the U.S. District Court for the District
of Massachusetts.
The two parties will now have 30 days to reach a formal
settlement agreement.
