Hong Kong Highpower Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:
HPJ), a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of
nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) and lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable
batteries and related products, announced today that The Wall
Street Transcript has published an extensive interview with Henry
Ngan, the Company's Chief Financial Officer. In the interview, Mr.
Ngan provides an overview of Hong Kong Highpower Technology's
product offerings, competitive advantages, and challenges and
opportunities going forward.
Following is a brief excerpt from the interview:
TWST: What are your fastest growing markets
geographically speaking?
Mr. Ngan: Given the world's financial crisis, we are seeing
China emerging as the fastest out of the global recession. Once
again, the market that we serve is quite large, so we see a lot of
opportunities internationally.
TWST: Are there specific opportunities over the
next year that you see?
Mr. Ngan: Once again, as the world's economy continues to
improve, I suspect demand will continue to rise and with the
additional business demands in existing as well as potential
customers, it can really further drive our business.
TWST: Is the fact that your batteries are
rechargeable also an advantage?
Mr. Ngan: Yes, certainly. If you look at this generation
compared to the previous generation, we are more environmentally
conscious, and as consumers become more environmentally conscious,
people want to purchase something or do something that can really
improve the quality of their lives and perhaps for the quality of
their grandchildren's lives. With rechargeable batteries, we always
have been a green enterprise. Rechargeable batteries bode well for
the environment, which we think is important, and I think that's
really the theme for us and for our consumers.
