Amnesty International USA Uses Kintera Technology to Develop Online Action Center

Kintera(R) Inc. (NASDAQ:KNTA) today announced that existing client,
Amnesty International USA (AIUSA), has launched its online Action
Center (http://takeaction.amnestyusa.org) using Kintera technology.
The online Action Center is integral to both the recruitment and
mobilization of the organization's activists around the country.
Using an integrated Kintera Sphere solution suite that includes
Kintera Advocacy, Kintera Content Management System (CMS) and
Friends Asking Friends(R), AIUSA has created a network of many
thousands of people that defend and promote human rights. For
example, AIUSA used Kintera technology to create a Web site for its
"700 Women" campaign, as well as collect and deliver 96,000
petition signatures to Congress. This petition called for the
reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) that funds
programs addressing domestic and dating violence, sexual assault
and stalking. The 700 Women campaign mobilized Amnesty
International members across the United States to join the call to
petition Congress. In the first eight hours of the launch of the
"700 Women" Web site, AIUSA garnered more than 10,000 petition
signers. After implementing Kintera technology, the AIUSA Action
Center now offers supporters online sign up for updates and action
alerts, posters and flyers for download, and the ability to submit
personal stories about experiences with domestic violence. In fact,
users have contributed more than 200 stories. "Kintera's online
technology allowed us to easily create customized campaign Web
sites for advocacy efforts and manage the user experience," said
Kevin Reid, director of Internet communications for AIUSA. "Our
online Action Center makes it simple for activists to weigh in on
important initiatives all over the world, connecting online
activism with offline action." "Kintera's technology is critical to
an organization's need to quickly and affordably spread the word
and encourage supporters to take action," said Tom Williamson,
general manager of politics and public policy for Kintera. "AIUSA's
online Action Center exemplifies using technology to increase
awareness and activism at a grassroots level." In addition, AIUSA
used Kintera's Friends Asking Friends online community-building
program to organize in-person lobbying visits to members of
Congress for its "Denounce Torture" initiative. The initiative is
an effort to end torture and ill-treatment in the context of the
U.S.-led "war on terror." Supporters were encouraged to become
delegates and used Friends Asking Friends to build and manage a
delegate team. As a result, AIUSA was able to organize 200
delegations in 47 states to bring the organization's anti-torture
message to members of Congress. About Amnesty International USA
