Kintera(R) Inc. today announced that Kintera and SofTrek have completed a database integration for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Kintera and SofTrek, a Kintera partner, integrated the organization's existing PledgeMaker donor database with Kintera Sphere(TM). DFCI uses Kintera Sphere online technology to manage and host events, such as runs, walks, golf tournaments and auctions on its Web site. Kintera worked with SofTrek to create an on-demand export to transfer data housed in Kintera Sphere, such as event transaction and payment information, into PledgeMaker. "Kintera's database consulting group has extensive experience with major integration projects involving a variety of database vendors. As a result of the FTP-based batch integration, DFCI is able to export online and offline donor transactions and related data from the Kintera Sphere database into PledgeMaker on a daily basis, saving the organization time and resources. "By using batch integration, DFCI can leverage the functionality of the Kintera Sphere platform, while incorporating the payment transaction monitoring capabilities of PledgeMaker," said Laurie Maczko, team leader in development information systems for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. "The integration has saved DFCI time and eliminated the tedium of manual data entry for our staff." Other features of the Kintera advanced integration included adding a deposit date for check donations and a payment date. Kintera also added a donor designation option, which allows donors to direct their gift to a specific campaign. As a result of the integration, all of this additional information is easily incorporated into PledgeMaker -- allowing centralization of data in one location.
